Phlebotomy Hands-On Workshop

This is a unique 8-day Hands-on phlebotomy clinical training class that provides the experienced student with additional skills and training in order to succeed in the healthcare field as a phlebotomist or other healthcare professional. 

This workshop is intended to compliment the student’s current medical training and/or experience. It contains phlebotomy overview, discussion, and practical instruction. The student must demonstrate proficient phlebotomy skills and knowledge equivalent to the Phlebotomy program. 

This is a workshop for students with prior medical training, related education, clinical experience or currently attending a Phlebotomy Program and wants/needs additional documented sticks.

Unlike other phlebotomy training programs who only have you practice on a phlebotomy training aid, we not only have you practice on a training aid to build up your confidence, but we also provide you with opportunity to do a live stick on a real person. Live “sticks” will be done in the class. These sticks include venipunctures and capillary sticks, and will not be done during an externship, but will be done on fellow students and yourself, in a very supervised setting. If you are not comfortable having someone draw your blood, please do not enroll for this workshop.  You will practice drawing blood on a training aid and then practice drawing blood on each other.  All attendees will be required to perform live venipunctures on each other under the direction of the instructor and/or licensed phlebotomist preceptor. 

DRESS CODE : A dress code is required for this program.  You are required to purchase and wear the approved color (navy blue) scrubs/uniform to each class and Hands-on training workshops. Closed toe shoes, not sandals are to be worn. You may purchase a white lab coat/jacket, but a disposable lab coat/jacket will be provided and should be always worn during clinicals/hands-on labs.

Students will be joining a Phlebotomy Technician Program already in session during their hands-on training dates.
