Clinical Medical Assistants are essential members of the healthcare team who perform a combination of clinical and administrative duties. They provide direct patient care, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality, while also managing various administrative tasks .
Clinical Medical Assistants are responsible for providing direct patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
CMAs perform various clinical procedures such as conducting ECG tests, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, performing phlebotomy (blood draws), administering medications under supervision, and assisting with minor medical procedures
Clinical Medical Assistants play a role in patient education by providing instructions on medication administration, assisting with patient understanding of medical procedures, and offering guidance on managing health conditions and promoting wellness.
CMAs maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting medical histories, vital signs, test results, and other relevant information. This ensures proper continuity of care and supports healthcare providers in making informed decisions.
